Three princes showing their magical gifts to the Sultan
There was once a Sultan who was King of All the Indias, and he had three sons: Prince Houssain, Prince Ali, and Prince Ahmed. They were all clever and brave, and they all wished to marry their cousin, the Princess. To decide who would marry her, the Sultan sent them on a journey. "Whoever brings back the most wonderful gift in one year shall marry the Princess," the Sultan declared. Reviewing their journey one year later, the brothers met at an inn. Prince Houssain had found a Magic Carpet that could fly anywhere instantly. Prince Ali had found a Magic Spy-Glass that showed whatever the owner wished to see. Prince Ahmed had found a Magic Apple that could cure any sickness.
"Let us look through the glass," said Prince Ali. But when they looked, they saw the Princess lying in her bed, gravely ill and near death! "We must hurry!" cried Prince Houssain. They all hopped onto the Magic Carpet and flew instantly to the palace. There, Prince Ahmed held the Magic Apple to the Princess's nose, and she was instantly cured.
